This annual event is held to honor women in our community that make substantial contributions to the Agriculture Industry in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. Each year, nominations are made by those in the industry and one woman is chosen to be honored at the luncheon.
The Agricultural Woman of the Year displays the following characteristics:
- Change Agent – A woman who creates systematic change through public policy, consumer awareness, volunteerism, etc.
- Leadership – A woman who displays leadership in the agricultural industry regardless of their job position.
- Spokesperson for Agriculture
- Well Roundedness and Community Support
